Ferry Pass Reminder

It is NOT ok to give YOUR Ferry pass to anyone, including a renter or family member. What is ok is that annual renters can purchase a non-resident Ferry pass at the SVBET office or you can accompany your guests on the Ferry.

It has come to our attention from the Captains and some individuals that people who are renting their homes out are leaving their Ferry Passes for their renters to use. If this is the case, the Captain’s will confiscate the Ferry Pass.

This is part of the Rules and Regulations that members agreed to when purchasing Ferry Passes. Remember, you can lose your privilege to ride the Ferry if you violate the Rules and Regulations. Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for your question. The Ferry is now running Tuesday through Sunday, from 9:30am to 6:30pm, and is closed Monday.

We are a family of three adults, all living under the same roof at the same address. That would be me, my wife, and her son by another marriage. Do your rules mean that our son must visit the beach as a guest and be accompanied by either me, my wife, or both of us? Is there any way to obtain a third ferry pass so our son can visit the beach at his convenience instead of ours?

Thank you for your question. The SVBET rules are based on decades of experiences to preserve the unique resource the South Venice Beach Community members have available to them. There is one membership available per household that comes with two passes and the ability to bring 4 accompanied guests. Some members in your situation choose to have one of their passes assigned to their adult child (over 18). The adult child can ride the Ferry on their own pass anytime, unaccompanied. The parent left without a pass would have to be a guest of the parent passholder or the adult child passholder.
