30 January 2025 – Repairs have begun on the low-water dock and repairs continue on the Ferry Dock House. We anticipate repairs will be completed by the end of February, if we do not uncover additional damage. We will communicate a specific opening date as repairs progress and we are more confident of a date.
As you may or may not know, the infrastructure that we have all been used to for many years is gone. The low-water dock is much farther away from the beach and will require more walking. We believe the distance is about 500 feet and will take about 3 minutes to walk. Our plan is to open the Ferry for a weekend for use at no charge to allow members to ride over at no cost for the purpose of determining if you want to buy a Ferry Pass. Keep in mind, if you purchase a Ferry Pass, there will be no refunds. Also, there is no proration. The cost for 2025 will be $200 for South Venice residents and property owners and $400 for non-residents (limited to 50). The additional $20 annually is due directly to the damage from 3 hurricanes in 2024.
We will let all know when you can come to the temporary office located next to the Ferry Dock House and purchase your 2025 Ferry Pass. Thanks!

How much farther? Twice as far, more?
We suggest you take advantage of the free Ferry trips when we reopen the Ferry. The low-water dock is just across from the Ferry Dock House on the mainland. You will need to walk across Manasota Key to get to the beach.
Right, we have a pass and know where that dock is. I was just wonder how long of a walk it will be.
It’s estimated to be about 500 feet and take about 3 minutes.
