January 9, 2026 – The SVBET has two new members beginning in 2026, Ty Overmyer and Nancy Darbee. We are very grateful for their willingness to serve on the Board of Trustees! We are also grateful for the many years Joe Lewis served on the Board of Trustees. Joe served as chair and handled many difficult issues, including several hurricanes! Thank you, Joe.

Please join us in congratulating Capt. Eric on his retirement from being our Beach Ferry Capt. for many years. We all enjoyed his professionalism and friendship and wish him well. You may see him from time to time as we are hoping he will be available to fill in for Capt. Ricky and Capt. Steve when needed, or help us with removing the Beach Ferry from its slip and out of the water during bad weather or needed repairs. Finally, based on the captain changes and other factors, the SVBET has voted to move the closure day to Tuesday. Please be aware and plan your beach visits accordingly. Let’s have a great 2026!
