Beach Ferry Pass Scanner Working!

Beach Ferry Pass Scanner Working!

Wednesday – 11 April 2024 Many of our members are noticing the Beach Ferry pass scanning system is now working for all pass holders. Everyone’s Ferry passes should now work on the Beach Ferry Dock House scanner to board the Ferry. The SVBET Trustees have been working diligently over the past few weeks to get all passes issued last year (2023) entered into the scanner system. New passes are being entered as they are created and many of these are available at the Ferry Dock House for pick up. Effective April 30, your Ferry pass must scan to ride the Ferry. If your passes issued in 2023 do not scan and you renewed for 2024, you can bring your passes to the office or email the information needed. The SVBET office is located at 720 Alligator Dr., Venice, Florida 34293 and is open on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday between the hours of 9 am to 1 pm. If you choose to email, you must email pictures of the back of your passes that clearly show the numbers and letters below the QRC code. You must also clearly indicate the first and last name for each pass picture sent. Email to trust@southvenicebeach.org. Anyone presenting a 2023 pass that does not scan after April 30 will not be permitted to ride the ferry until the issue is rectified. If you have not renewed your 2023 membership for 2024, be sure to bring your 2023 pass when renewing.

Remember to keep you passes even if choose not to renew! Once a pass has been issued to you, when you do renew, you must present that pass. If you have discarded or lost the pass, you will be charged an additional $25 when renewing.

The SVBET chose this pass system to cut down on fraud and abuse and to collect data to help optimize Ferry services. Fraud and abuse has been reduced substantially, preserving services for our members.
