No Digging on the Beach Clarification

24 February 2026 – The Trust would like to clarify and amplify it’s no digging rules. Digging on South Venice Beach Trust property is not allowed, anywhere. As everyone knows, our beach is eroding. We all must do everything within our power to minimize any further erosion. Digging equipment, including shovels, will not be allowed on Trust property, including the Ferry. Sharks teeth sifters are allowed. Children’s plastic sand shovels and buckets are allowed as long as they are not being used to excavate. Any removal/relocation of sand for beach chairs, sand castles, or other traditional beach recreational activities must be repaired before leaving. As a reminder, all members agreed to rules, including no damage or commercial activity. Violation of the rules can lead to revocation of membership, including lifetime bans.

The Trust is looking at beach preservation alternatives. Thanks everyone for your efforts and let’s do what we can to preserve the beach for our children!
